The eSports Awards released its list of nominations for the 2023 season. The list includes Valorant star Max Mazanov, aka Demon1. Also, he earned three nominations after his rookie year with Evil Geniuses.

Alexis “Zen” Bernier, a Rocket League player for Team Vitality, and Seth “Scump” Abner, a content developer, are the only other players with as many nominations as he does this year.

According to eSports betting reports, Demon1 is a member of the Evil Geniuses, nominated for Team of the Year. Also, he has been nominated for PC Player of the Year and Breakthrough Player of the Year individually.

Valorant Star Gets 3 Nominations

Demon1 made his EG debut in Week 2 of VCT Americas on April 10. The team finished third in the playoffs of VCT Americas and second at VCT Masters Tokyo. In addition, EG won Valorant Champions 2023. Also, he was the tournament’s most valuable player (MVP).

If not for the 21-year-entrance old’s play at the beginning of the season, Evil Geniuses might not be in the running for Team of the Year. Despite his achievements this year, Demon1 may be switching teams in 2024.

The Valorant players on Evil Geniuses reportedly have been requested to accept a big wage reduction to remain on the team or face a buyout.

According to sports news reports, the VCT off-season has just begun. Thus, teams have not yet finalized their rosters. Therefore, whether the player would be transferred to a new team immediately following his outstanding debut year is unclear.
