Third seed Daniil Medvedev stunned defending US Open Champ Carlos Alcaraz. It was only the latter’s Grand Slam defeat since winning last year. Also, Medvedev rated his performance 12 out of ten. According to bookie PPH experts, the world No. 1 got out to a strong start. However, Medvedev returned to take the opening set 7-3 on a tiebreak after saving two break opportunities.
In the second set, Alcaraz appeared nervous. Thus, Medvedev comfortably won 6-1 by winning 16 18 games on his serve.

After using the restroom, Alcaraz, at age 20, the youngest world No. 1 in history, appeared refreshed and won the first game easily. He raised his arms to the cheering audience and won the third set, 6-3. He is a two-time grand slam champion.
After an incredible seven-deuce game, Medvedev rebounded in the fourth set and scored a breakpoint, inching closer to a historic triumph. Then, on his fourth match point, he finished the match with an overhead smash after fending off three break points in the deciding service game. Medvedev said it was “wonderful” to make it to the final of the US Open.
Despite having a 9-1 record in five-set matches thus far, Alcaraz has yet to return from a 2-0 deficit and win a match. The final match will replay the 2021 US Open final, which Medvedev won in straight sets against Novak Djokovic.
